Purposes of the Consortium
Over the past few years SBWIC has offered scholarships to students
graduating from local high schools and entering college as full time students.
The SBWIC strives to assist students become a productive member of society and
achieve their goals. Students receiving scholarships are those who, without
assistance, may not have the opportunity to enroll in college because of
financial restraints.
In 2005, the SBWIC was pleased to expand its scholarship award to current
college students. Students from El Camino College, Southwest College and
California State University Dominguez Hills, were recipients of awards which
they used to help defray the costs of their tertiary education.
